27 inch and 11 inch LED displays 3MM thick

The Display 2007 exhibition sounds like it could be the most boring of tradeshows to visit (although it's in Tokyo, so you could always skip out for some gaijin fun). But hidden in there are some real nice looking new toys. Sony showed two new super slim OLED displays, a Hi Def 27 incher and tiny 11 inch, 3mm thick number (pictured).

"Yeah, yeah", you might say. "These are concepts, we'll never see them." Well, Sony has promised the 11 inch model before the end of the year. Japan only at first, but it can't be too long before they hit our sunny shores.

What with this and yesterday's cute little lipstick-like NW-E MP3 players, it looks like sony is getting back to what they are good at; simple, stylish and very very desirable consumer electronics.
